Why use complications#
Complications are small, believable twists. They don’t negate what just happened — they add texture: pressure, cost, time, risk, or new information. Use them when action stalls or success feels too easy.
How to use this table#
- When the scene needs a nudge, roll a d20.
- Read the prompt and adapt it to your context.
- Ask your oracle if outcomes are unclear.
- Note the change in your session log.
